The Museum of Science and Industries!

Hi! I'm already back with another thing I did! Today, me and my family got to go to the Museum of Science and Industry! We got to go see baby chicks and baby mice! They were so cute that when my mom said she didn't see the mice,  I insisted on bringing her back to see them. The chicks were both wet and fluffy. Newborns and day-olds. We also did a weather exhibit that had some hands on things that kids like me can do. It also had giant indoor tornado that I could control with some levers. We also saw a humpback whale movie that was about whaling and mostly about humpback whales. We also saw a mirror maze. We learned about patterns. My dad got lost in the maze! Also, when we found my sisters, they knew exactly where the exit was.

First Two Days in Chicago

Hello, visitors! I am not in Michigan anymore-
I'm in Chicago, Illinois! Yesterday, me and my family got to go to Legoland! It was so much fun! We got to build race cars and race them down tracks. Margeaux made a house on wheels! It was so cute! And we got to see how                     real lego bricks were made! Me, Margeaux, and my dad saw a lego movie short and there was special effects  that made it rain water for about 2 seconds. It was in 3-D, so I got to wear special 3-D glasses.
Today, I went to the Art Institute of Chicago, where I saw all these wonderful paintings. Here are some of the artists I looked at:
  • Vincent Van Gogh. He painted dark at first, and then lighter and happier. Also, he painted the bedroom paintings. It's the first time that they're all together!

  • Paul Gauguin. He painted a picture with a Cézanne in the background.
  •  Cézanne. He painted his wife sitting in a yellow chair. She looked serious.
  • Pissarro. She paints people doing everyday things, like drinking coffee.

  • Toulouse-Lautrec. He painted a picture of ballerinas.
  • Seurat. He painted a picture called A Sunday on La Grand Jatte. It's made up of tiny dots.
  • Claude Monet. He painted lily pads and haystacks. I have a lily pad painting in my bedroom at our apartment!
Also, there are some miniature rooms. It looks like they took an entire house or palace and shrunk it!

Snow Day Challenge Post

Hi, everyone! I am back with another post! Today, I am doing a Snow Day Challenge post. The challenge was to create something, so I chose LEGOs. I did a LEGO Elves set. LEGO Elves is a type of LEGO that includes elves, and sometimes you get a girl who is NOT a elf. The girl who is not an elf is Emily Jones. Emily has a necklace that somehow made a tree into a portal into Elvendale, which is the home of the elves. The elves are named Azari (fire elf), Aira (air elf), Farran (earth elf), and Naida (water elf). They each have a key that will help Emily get home. This set came with Farran's key, the earth key. It also comes with a mini-set piece, which is a squirrel catapult. You will see the catapult in the photo. Here is a picture of the finished LEGO Elves set:

Thank you for reading my Snow Day Challenge post! :)

All About Me!

Hello! My name is Dorothy. Welcome to my blog. Let me tell you a little bit about myself, before you start reading my blog.
You already know my name, so let's start with my pets. I have three fish. One is tiny and silver, but I don't know what kind of fish it is.  Her name is Jessica. One is a goldfish. He is very big, even though he started out tiny. His name is El Dorado Santiago. It's a Spanish name. (It's pronounced like this: el du-ro-doe son-tee-o-go.) I also have a Betta Fish. Here is a picture of one:
Mine's name is Wisckers. He is blue. I had a red one named Steven, but unfortunately, he died in October in 2015. It was a very sad time. I also have two cats. Their names are Threespot and Peek. Threespot was once a street cat. My parents adopted him when he was a kitten. They were given Peek as a wedding present when he was a very tiny kitten. I love fashion, too. I love to sew fashion, actually. My Grandma gave me a sewing machine for Christmas when I was seven.
