All About Me!

Hello! My name is Dorothy. Welcome to my blog. Let me tell you a little bit about myself, before you start reading my blog.
You already know my name, so let's start with my pets. I have three fish. One is tiny and silver, but I don't know what kind of fish it is.  Her name is Jessica. One is a goldfish. He is very big, even though he started out tiny. His name is El Dorado Santiago. It's a Spanish name. (It's pronounced like this: el du-ro-doe son-tee-o-go.) I also have a Betta Fish. Here is a picture of one:
Mine's name is Wisckers. He is blue. I had a red one named Steven, but unfortunately, he died in October in 2015. It was a very sad time. I also have two cats. Their names are Threespot and Peek. Threespot was once a street cat. My parents adopted him when he was a kitten. They were given Peek as a wedding present when he was a very tiny kitten. I love fashion, too. I love to sew fashion, actually. My Grandma gave me a sewing machine for Christmas when I was seven.

  1. Dear Dorothy,

I think starting out your blog by focusing on one aspect of yourself--your pets--is a grand idea. Your knowledge of Betta Fish is outstanding, I have learned more about them this year than I have ever known. I even found out I'd been spelling Betta Fish wrong all these years! I did not know that you had two cats however. We have two cats at our house as well and they keep us entertained.

I am curious about your sewing. I tried sewing as a girl and was a dismal failure, unfortunately, so I admire everyone who is skilled in that area. What have you sewn so far?

Thanks for the excellent blog post, it was a pleasure to read!

    1. Dear Mrs. Essenburg,

I am replying to your question. So far, I have sewn a tote bag, a skirt, and
a bag I made creatively, but the straps are inside-out. I am thinking about trying to make my uncle an apron, and maybe even making my grandpa a suit, which is going to be very, very hard. Love, your bestest friend, Dorothy

  2. Dorothy,
    What a lovely blog post!
You are an excellent friend and caregiver to all our pets, and I know they love you very much. I am particularly impressed with how you are teaching Whiskers to jump when you feed him. I did not know that fish could learn tricks!
Looking forward to reading more blog posts!
    Love, Mom

  3. Dear Dorothy,
    I like sewing too!
I don't have a sewing machine, but my grandma sometimes lets me use hers.

    1. My sewing machine has a flower pattern on it, and it's adult-size. Does your grandma's sewing machine have a pattern on it?

  4. Dorothy,
What a great post. I also love my pets. You know that we both love betta fish. My betta, Party Pete, died in the autumn, too. It was sad, but I also know that he had a good life with me. Way better than if he'd been in some pet store cup, right?

I am also learning to sew. I have to admit, I'm kind of scared of my sewing machine. I am trying to be brave about it!!

The girls and I love and miss you loads.
